Established in 1967 by William Dowdakin Sr. to provide finishing work on critical inside diameters to valve sleeves, over the years Rockford ID Shop has become known to its customers as a source of high quality machining expertise. Rockford ID Shop is focused on precision lathe, mill work, and honing. We have 100 years of combined experience in processing and machining aerospace, industrial, tooling, and automotive parts in materials that include aluminum, stainless, brass, and tool steels.
We have a close relationship with suppliers who provide us with special machine and tool design, heat treatment, surface treatments jig grinding, surface OD, and ID grinding, or almost any other process required for your parts. All of these suppliers are within twenty miles of our facility, thus reducing transit delays during processing. Established material-suppliers can provide us with almost any material, or we can use your supplier if you prefer.
